Students living outside the United States interested in pursuing a religious vocation to the missionary priesthood and Brotherhood with the Society of the Divine Word are encouraged to contact Divine Word Missionaries in their home country. The Society of the Divine Word has missionaries in over 70 countries around the world. Many of these countries have seminaries and houses of formation for young men interested in missionary service. In most cases, a young man should complete his missionary training in his home country. If you are in a country that does not have a formation program for Divine Word Missionaries, the best alternative is to locate a formation program in a near-by country.
If this is not feasible, Divine Word College welcomes international students. In addition to the standard admissions policies, international students will follow the regulations provided by the Citizenship and Immigration Service of the United States Department of Homeland Security.
If English is a second language for you, you will need to take an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or an alternative standardized test. You must submit the official test score report with your completed application papers to the Director of Admissions. If you’re accepted, you’ll receive an I-20 form so you can apply for a student visa from the U. S. government.
