The celebration begins at 3:00 p.m. with a Mass of Thanksgiving. The multilingual liturgy combines many traditions from Vietnam and China including decorations and sacred liturgical dances.
A formal banquet reception immediately follows. Participants are welcome to sample many Asian delicacies prepared by Divine Word students and friends from Vietnamese communities in the area.
A highlight of the evening is the traditional Vietnamese entertainment. Dragon dancing, music and comedy routines are just a few of the things participants enjoy. The Lunar New Year celebration at Divine Word is one of the largest celebrations of Vietnamese and Chinese cultures this side of Chicago. Where else can you experience the richness of another culture so close to home?
