Library Available 24/7

For DWC faculty and students, the library is open 24 hours per day. This includes the Periodical Reading Room and the Main Reading Room. If you come in late at night, feel free to turn on the lights that you need -- and please remember to turn them off on your way out! For other public users, the College doors open at 7:30am on Monday through Friday, and at 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday. The College doors close at 7:00pm every evening. Library Usage

The Jacoby Library serves the faculty, students, and staff of Divine Word College by providing resources for classroom, scholarship, leisure and devotions. The Library is also open to students and faculty of area colleges, and to area residents. Faculty, staff and students of the Dubuque Tri-Colleges have checkout privileges. Library material is also available through Interlibrary Loan, which is handled by your college or public library. All visitors must contact one of the Librarians, in advance of a visit, to arrange for a user card.

Circulation

DWC students and faculty can check out an unlimited number of books, and may keep them out for as long as they are needed. All books should be returned to the Library at least two weeks prior to the end of the semester. They may be renewed at that time if they are still needed. Reserve Books and Reference Books should be used in the Library. Videos, DVDsm CDs and audio tapes may also be checked out for as long as you like. If you wish to look at a book that is checked out to another student, we will notify the student to bring the book back after he has had it for three weeks. If he has already had it for three weeks, we will ask him to bring it back immediately.
