Maintenance Director Full-Time

 

Divine Word College has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Director. This position is an at-will employee of the College and is responsible for a variety of maintenance and janitorial duties.

Position description:  
 

Coordinates and takes direction from the Vice President for Operations on major maintenance projects.  Arranges for repairs with outside vendors, soliciting bids when appropriate. Assists in preparing an annual budget for the maintenance department. Complies with federal, state and local regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Arranges for bids and estimates on purchases of goods and services in the maintenance department. Arranges for annual safety inspections of boilers and elevators. Keeps an adequate supply of maintenance supplies and chemicals on hand, and supplies the Business Office with Material Safety Data Sheets. Maintains a safe and efficient operation of the boilers and other water treatment equipment. Maintains the emergency electricity generating system and checks it at least monthly. Handles routine problems and alerts the administration to major maintenance problems. Oversees all new construction. Oversees the groundskeeper(s) to maintain an attractive and safe campus. Coordinates with snow and ice removal contractor(s).

Maintains all equipment in good working order, being mindful of safety for operators.

Handles or assigns routine maintenance work on all vehicles:  fluid checks, air pressure, belts, batteries, lights and cleanliness; and sees that accurate maintenance logs are kept on all vehicles. Arranges for repairs with outside vendors, soliciting bids when appropriate.

 

 

Qualifications Include:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Certification/license required in a major trade (electricity, plumbing, carpentry, or engineering).

Experience in maintenance required.

Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools and equipment:  truck, tractor.

Ability to work alone and on a team.

Must have a valid driver’s license.
 
 
 


Full-time position benefit package includes life, medical, dental insurance, vacation, paid holidays, 403(b) Flex Plan and tuition exchange program.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000 starting - DOQ
