Assistant Professor of Theology
Dr. Winter was born and raised in Missouri, where he received his BA in English from Truman State University and married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth. They moved to Philadelphia so Ben could complete his MA in Theology at Villanova University, and then back to Saint Louis for doctoral work in historical theology. Their life is enriched daily by their twin daughters Julian and Lillian, born in 2014. Ben’s research interests include scholasticism, science and religion, philosophical theology, and mysticism. Outside the academy, he enjoys creating electronic music, travel, swimming, science fiction, and podcasts of all sorts.
