What have you done to REAWAKEN yourself this Lent? Watch this video to find out what Cederick did to stay alert in his faith while on spring break at Sacred Heart Church, Memphis TN.
Cederick challenges us to experience GROWTH on our journey to Easter. Will you dive deep?
SACRIFICE. It's something we think about each year during Lent but each person has their own approach.
Cederick wrote the following reflection about ATTACHMENT for this week's Living Lent series: "I think we can get ourselves too attached to things, people, dreams, and ideas that it ends up getting in the way of our relationship with God. There’s nothing wrong with any of them, it’s how we relate with them that makes the difference. In the end, if God is not at the center of our lives, and if we’re not allowing God to guide us on how to relate with these things properly, these things will end up destroying us and those around us. Our hearts were never meant to belong to any of these. They are only things to get us where we’re supposed to be. They are a means to get to God, where our hearts truly belong. Once we learn how to put God in the center of our lives, above all things, then will we be able to truly live happily and live life to the fullest."
This week’s theme for Living Lent is FORGIVENESS and you won’t want to miss Cederick sharing his reflections on the topic and his musical talent.
The theme for our final week of the Living Lent series is REFLECTION. Thinking back about the past few weeks since Ash Wednesday, what have you learned? How was your Lenten experience? Send your comments to info@dwci.edu. (And be on the lookout for a surprise guest in the video!)
